Express Entry is a new and exciting approach to immigration in Canada, and based on the Human Capital model. This concept considers the knowledge, education, social and personality attributes of an individual, in relation to the ability to work and provide economic value. An applicant will be ranked and scored based on an examination of their age, education, language skills and professional work experience, among other factors.

If the applicant has the skills and knowledge to be proficient in their occupation, and can display the ability to settle in Canada with ease, this is the immigration category in which to apply.
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP):
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for those who would like to become permanent residents based on qualifications in a skilled trade.
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
A temporary foreign worker or a foreign student with the appropriate work experience in Canada may qualify under this program to transition from temporary to permanent residency. The CEC program focuses on attracting individuals with the necessary work experience in Canada, allowing them to become Permanent Residents and contribute to the Canadian economy.
